Sermon Notes: #DealingWithDivorce Jesus died for all sins. Not just the bad ones.

There is not one sin that is better or worse than the others.
From divorce to homosexuality to abortion you can approach sin with legalism or liberalism. But God is neither nor. God is just and righteous. Always. And forever.

The Bible is authoritative
God is gracious
We are to be gentle

People need a biblical understanding without being beat me up!

Justifications of divorce come by Moses = Adultery, Paul = Abandonment, but Jesus = Don’t divorce, just stay Married. God united two into one, therefore, let no man separate what He creates.

Marriage is the Pursuit of Holiness. Not the Pursuit of Happiness.
Sometimes it takes a lot of Blisters before you can embrace Bliss.

What God has put together He can hold together!!!

Trust The Lord. He can do miracles. Amen.

1 Cor 7:10-17. Matthew 19:1-3. Deut. 24. Mark 10.

To the married people I give charge–not I but the Lord–that the wife is not to separate from her husband. But if she does [separate from and divorce him], let her remain single or else be reconciled to her husband. And [I charge] the husband [also] that he should not put away or divorce his wife.

To the rest I declare–I, not the Lord [for Jesus did not discuss this]–that if any brother has a wife who does not believe [in Christ] and she consents to live with him, he should not leave or divorce her. And if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he consents to live with her, she should not leave or divorce him.

For the unbelieving husband is set apart (separated, withdrawn from heathen contamination, and affiliated with the Christian people) by union with his consecrated (set-apart) wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart and separated through union with her consecrated husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean (unblessed heathen, outside the Christian covenant), but as it is they are prepared for God [pure and clean].

But if the unbelieving partner [actually] leaves, let him do so; in such [cases the remaining] brother or sister is not morally bound. But God has called us to peace. For, wife, how can you be sure of converting and saving your husband? Husband, how can you be sure of converting and saving your wife?

Only, let each one [seek to conduct himself and regulate his affairs so as to] lead the life which the Lord has allotted and imparted to him and to which God has invited and summoned him. This is my order in all the churches.

(1 Corinthians 7:10-17 AMP)

NOW WHEN Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the part of Judea that is beyond the Jordan; And great throngs accompanied Him, and He cured them there. And Pharisees came to Him and put Him to the test by asking, Is it lawful and right to dismiss and repudiate and divorce one’s wife for any and every cause? He replied, Have you never read that He Who made them from the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseparably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate). They said to Him, Why then did Moses command [us] to give a certificate of divorce and thus to dismiss and repudiate a wife? He said to them, Because of the hardness (stubbornness and perversity) of your hearts Moses permitted you to dismiss and repudiate and divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been so [ordained]. I say to you: whoever dismisses (repudiates, divorces) his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. The disciples said to Him, If the case of a man with his wife is like this, it is neither profitable nor advisable to marry. But He said to them, Not all men can accept this saying, but it is for those to whom [the capacity to receive] it has been given. For there are eunuchs who have been born incapable of marriage; and there are eunuchs who have been made so by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves incapable of marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him who is able to accept this accept it.

(Matthew 19:1-12 AMP)

WHEN A man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a bill of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, And when she departs out of his house she goes and marries another man, And if the latter husband dislikes her and writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies, who took her as his wife, Then her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after she is defiled. For that is an abomination before the Lord; and you shall not bring guilt upon the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance. When a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.

(Deuteronomy 24:1-5 AMP)

Luke 8:1-15

A farmer went out to scatter seed in a field. While the farmer was doing this, some of the seeds fell along the road and were stepped on or eaten by birds. (LUKE 8:5 CEV)

The seeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it. But they don’t have deep roots, and they believe only for a little while. As soon as life gets hard, they give up. (LUKE 8:13 CEV)

1. ROCKS: The cluttered life
A cure: Simplicity

2. ROOTS: The shallow life
A cure: Substance

10 Talents (@WSFChurch)

Notes taken from a sermon by Pastor Robert Flores @ WSFC

10 Talents

it’s like our whole lives we’ve been fill with disappointment
Winning all the way so we need to go repent
Some days I’m anointed some days I’m annoying
Why do we always feel we are disappointing
God I pray for a change within a man’s heart
Can’t change on our own allow God to make a start
We need to fix the cistern deep within our well
Lord fill it with your living water and over fill
Floweth over let your love flow from within
My joy is in the Lord my life is within Him

Ever little story spoken by Jesus is a parable
He speaks truth of hidden things within a parallel
Most dont know what he means it’s hysterical
He uses your terms to explain his word it’s comparable

The old language we spoke was the language of complaint
Now in the new kingdom we shout praise like a saint
Can’t live like a sinner though we’re clothed with righteousness
The atmosphere of darkness is not love it’s lust
What do appreciate now that you live your new life
Don’t act a fool as if you never knew Christ
At the end of the line what will God expect
Will you be a good and faithful servant or regret
Don’t forget what you’ve been given
Don’t regret how you’ve been living
Don’t you get if you’re giving
Be a servant and be serving

Let’s not judge people for where they’re at
Let’s be mindful of their starting point & hear it
We can hear them out we start with different amounts
We aren’t owners we are stewards it counts
We don’t deserve a thing not a thing we were given
Even our first breath is a gift to be livin
We are blessed with a season of responsibility
Let’s be left be with love and respect in ability

Win the day to be a Jesus person and pray
Make the decision today don’t forget to pray
It’s for the advancement of God’s kingdom
Let’s help advance Our Lords’s Kingdom
We have a responsibility to be responsible
Don’t play it safe and risk nothing at all
Why take a hundred grand and end up with 100,000
We don’t build dead end streets lets make a stand

We are not blessed to be blessed
We are blessed to be best
It’s best to be a blessing
Then others will be blessed

That’s how the kingdom of God functions
Even Abram was chosen Not chose to do nothing
We’ve been chosen to do something
So let’s all do something and not nothing

Don’t we know a thing we never did deserve it
But let’s do a job well done as a good and faithful servant

CRAVE

Made Fresh Daily

John 6:30-59

Jan. 22/23, 2011 – Pastor John Fehlen

NOTES:

“Jesus responded, “The real significance of that Scripture is not that Moses gave you bread from heaven but that my Father is right now offering you bread from heaven, the real bread. The Bread of God came down out of heaven and is giving life to the world.” – John 6:32,33 in The Message

“Master, from now on give us this bread!” – John 6:34

Manna = Death

Jesus = Life

“Wait, Listen. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance.” – Isaiah 55:1,2

“When you follow the desires (appetite) of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” – Galatians 5:19-21

POEM:

Do things on our own, it’s the air we breathe

what about the experience and the things we need

can we do it all, can we live off stories

yet inside we are dry and getting so boring

We can’t live off moldy bread; stale and crusty

let’s get that Made Fresh Daily, fail to be ugly

forget being hungry, why wait? Grab the word

without it so absurd, so have you not heard

Bread is more of an universal food, odd

it’s the center piece, a symbol of dependence on God

they saw it multiply, about 2000 years ago

they wanted to see it more, grow and grow

Remember the manna, remember the thousands

the bread of God came, down from the heavens

real bread that gives life, a bar set high

the real deal, so official, that’s how you get life

::

Sustaining, original, no side effects

Satisfaction guarenteed, know life expects…

To please all and all, consistent and permanent

No other option, yes you’re deservin’ it

::

Take it in, inhale, and let it build your body

it will take place, take fruit, not a hobby

this is real life, no need for an avatar

why leave home, why drive so far

Isn’t the home cookin’ worth your appetite

why go out tonight, if your bell aches in the night

eating flesh, drinking blood – that’s cooky

it’s spiritual, not literal, you smart cookie

Don’t just nibble around the edges of Jesus

he’s a full course meal, his name is Jesus

consume him, he consumes you, invest in him

no flirt, full commitment – ingestin’ him

He was made to please us, let’s please him too

give him our all, all of us is what’s due

snack attack is back, that’s whack, it’ll lack

what we need is sustenance, it’s what we can’t lack
