WE DIDN’T CHOOSE THE TREE OF LIFE, WE PICKED FRUIT FROM THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL!

So here we are… we sinned against a perfect and holy GOD, and we now must face the reality of good AND evil. The wages of sin is DEATH! Therefore, we must live… only to die. Hmm. Well, is there a way to reconcile with our Creator? Can we pay the DEBT of Sin? We definitely cannot accomplish such a task on our own. God, if only he could send us a savior, a messiah, a scapegoat, a virgin lamb to allow a passover of sin and guilt. Can someone be Convicted of our CRIME and take our place?

YES!!!

JESUS!!!

THE MESSIAH!!!

THE CHRIST!!!

The easiest way to describe death is as a SEPARATION. Our physical death is merely a separation of our body from our spirit. But spiritual death is separation from God for eternity. When you are born again, you will die only a physical death. You will never again be separated from God—even in death. I love the saying “When you are born once, you die twice; when you are born twice, you only die once.”

See John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Revelation 20:14

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

Why do we die? We die because sin entered the world through Adam and Eve.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned— Romans 5:12

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.                                                                              Romans 6:23

What happens after we die? We face judgement.

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment – Hebrews 9:27

Should we fear death? Not if we know Christ in a personal way.

Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.

- Psalm 23:4

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

- 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT ME?

Know the facts. You will physically die unless you experience the second coming of Christ in your lifetime. Our time is short, so be prepared to meet God. Stay close and serve Him with passion. And most of all, don’t fear death. Just think, it’s the same day that you will bow in the might presence of the Lord!
